Miina Alajärvi

Miina Alajärvi (1984) is a filmmaker from Rovaniemi. As a freelance artist, she has worked on short films and media art. She’s currently working on her first feature-length documentary. Miina also has a career as a commercial film director at Flatlight Creative with a strong vision of telling stories from the North. She studied Cinematography at Tampere University of Applied Sciences, and Audiovisual Media Culture at the University of Lapland.

Miina has directed several short films, both fiction and documentary. Her short films “Lautta” (2005), “The Electrician” (2009) and “Mon Renne” (2013) have been featured in the programs and competition series of acknowledged short film festivals. She has also worked on media installations, such as “Sharing Future Happiness” with an audience of over a million people in the Finnish pavilion of the Dubai 2020 World Expo.
