Vallu has been directing short films for a long time, some under the guise of fiction, and some labelled as documentaries. Either way, Vallu most often finds themself coming back to themes of intimacy, lust and consent. They have a special interest in dialogic and ethical filmmaking processes and DIY-inspired, collective practices. Vallu has also been teaching filmmaking for children and adults alike. They specialize in developing filmmaking methods for young people as well as community-based storytelling and shared feedback practices. They hold a Masters’ Degree on Contemporary History from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Helsinki.
